234 Reviews, 4.8 Stars: A Milestone in Empathy School’s Story

There are moments in a school’s journey that are worth remembering.
Before Google changed its review policy for schools, Empathy School had reached a 4.8-star rating across 234 Google reviews — a milestone that reflected the experiences shared by families, visitors, and members of our wider community.
For us, those numbers represented much more than a rating. Behind every review was someone who had experienced Empathy School and chose to share a part of that experience with others.
A milestone worth remembering
For years, Google Reviews offered families a way to share their experiences with schools and helped prospective parents learn from those who had already been part of a school community.
Empathy School was fortunate to receive hundreds of reviews during that time. At the moment captured in the image below, our Google profile showed an average rating of 4.8 out of 5, based on 234 reviews.
Today, these reviews are no longer publicly available on our Google profile. Google changed its policy for general education schools, removing existing ratings and reviews from affected school profiles and disabling the ability to leave new ones.
Although those reviews can no longer be found on Google, we believe this milestone deserves a place in Empathy School’s story.
More than a rating
A rating can only capture a small part of what happens within a school.
Empathy School is built around relationships: between students and teachers, families and the school, learning and nature, and our international community and the culture and environment of Bali.
The experiences behind those relationships cannot be reduced to a number. Still, seeing so many people take the time to publicly share their experience of Empathy School was meaningful to us.
Their feedback became part of how new families discovered our community and offered a window into Empathy School through the perspectives of people who had experienced it themselves.
The story continues
Google Reviews may no longer be available for schools, but the community behind those reviews remains at the heart of Empathy School.
Every new family, every student, every project, and every shared experience continues to shape who we are and what Empathy School becomes.
So while 234 reviews and a 4.8-star rating represent a chapter from our past, what they reflected — trust, connection, and community — continues to guide us today.
